Climbing A Mountain

Climbing A Mountain... Sort ofWhile we were camping this week, my daughter Charlee asked me if I could take her to climb a mountain. (I’m pretty sure she got this idea from watching a Dora or Diego episode ! haha) So I called Cliffhangers Richmond to see if a three year old could climb, and they told me that as long as I supervised her and she fit into the harness we could give it a try. The same morning, we went over to check out the facility and try out the harness which fit perfectly.

It wasn’t just Charlee’s first time, it was also mine! Although we have never tried indoor rock climbing before, we were having so much fun that we quickly gained enough confidence to try more difficult walls. After two hours I wanted to keep going, but my arms were telling me that I needed to work out more! Charlee talked about Cliffhangers for the rest of the day and is excited to go back again.

All of the staff that we encountered were absolutely amazing! They were incredibly friendly, and very helpful from the initial phone call right through to our departure. I felt comfortable that we were safe as both my daughter and I climbed. We had such a great time, that we will definitely be going again sometime soon. In fact, we have already looked into taking some lessons and possibly purchasing some basic equipment of our own. Perhaps Mountain Equipment Coop would be willing to sponsor the essentials? haha

Climbing A Mountain...ishCliffhangers is an excellent place for a family activity. They have a variety of programs for both children and adults and can even accommodate group bookings for private / corporate events or birthday parties at all three of their locations in Vancouver, Richmond and Coquitlam.

Thanks for the great experience Cliffhangers Richmond! See you soon!
