About The Video & Event
Skechers and Shoes.com teamed up to provide new shoes to children in need. Over 500 pairs of Bobs from Skechers shoes were donated to children at the Strathcona Community Centre on Thursday May 26, 2016.
After receiving their new Bobs, children were able to personalize their pairs at hosted decorating stations and have fun doing different activities including indoor games, face painting, snacks, and arts and crafts. The BC Lions cheerleaders and the Vancouver Whitecaps mascot were also on-site to assist with the event and a guest DJ from shoes.com provided music.
Shoes.com and Skechers share a passion for helping those in need remain healthy, active and on their feet through the donation of shoes. Since the BOBS from Skechers program launched in 2011, Skechers has donated more than 13 million pairs of new shoes to children in need. Partnering with Head Start programs, education foundations, homeless shelters, disaster relief, and 501(c)(3) organizations, Skechers assists children and families in communities across Canada, the United States and around the world.
In 2013, shoes.com launched the Heart and Sole Shoe Exchange, a program dedicated to helping homeless communities and individuals remain independent by providing them new shoes and socks. Through the donation of thousands of pairs of shoes, the shoes.com team has helped people across North America regain their confidence and overcome common and painful foot problems.
